- disidentify — (intransitive) Not to identify with something; to reject a personal or group identity, etc.
- misidentify — to identify incorrectly.
- mistake — an error in action, calculation, opinion, or judgment caused by poor reasoning, carelessness, insufficient knowledge, etc.
- lose — to come to be without (something in one's possession or care), through accident, theft, etc., so that there is little or no prospect of recovery: I'm sure I've merely misplaced my hat, not lost it.
