The Amex Index climbed 2.66 to 372.78, topping the previous high of 372.40, set last Wednesday.On the Amex, the company was the volume leader, although short interest edged down 0.2 percent to 3.67 million shares.Amex is the second-largest stock exchange in the US, after the New York Stock Exchange.
