apparatus β The apparatus of an organization or system is its structure and method of operation.
gear β Machinery. a part, as a disk, wheel, or section of a shaft, having cut teeth of such form, size, and spacing that they mesh with teeth in another part to transmit or receive force and motion. an assembly of such parts. one of several possible arrangements of such parts in a mechanism, as an automobile transmission, for affording different relations of torque and speed between the driving and the driven machinery, or for permitting the driven machinery to run in either direction: first gear; reverse gear. a mechanism or group of parts performing one function or serving one purpose in a complex machine: steering gear.
paraphernalia β (sometimes used with a singular verb) equipment, apparatus, or furnishing used in or necessary for a particular activity: a skier's paraphernalia.

supplies β to furnish or provide (a person, establishment, place, etc.) with what is lacking or requisite: to supply someone clothing; to supply a community with electricity.
furnishings β furnishings. furniture, carpeting, etc., for a house or room. articles or accessories of dress: men's furnishings.
furniture β the movable articles, as tables, chairs, desks or cabinets, required for use or ornament in a house, office, or the like.
machinery β an assemblage of machines or mechanical apparatuses: the machinery of a factory.
material β the substance or substances of which a thing is made or composed: Stone is a durable material.
accessories β Accessories belong to a product category in fashion stores, which includes items such as scarves, hats, gloves, belts, and purses.
accompaniments β something incidental or added for ornament, symmetry, etc.
accouterments β personal clothing, accessories, etc.
devices β a thing made for a particular purpose; an invention or contrivance, especially a mechanical or electrical one.
equipage β The equipment for a particular purpose.
facilities β Often, facilities. something designed, built, installed, etc., to serve a specific function affording a convenience or service: transportation facilities; educational facilities; a new research facility. something that permits the easier performance of an action, course of conduct, etc.: to provide someone with every facility for accomplishing a task; to lack facilities for handling bulk mail.
fixtures β something securely, and usually permanently, attached or appended, as to a house, apartment building, etc.: a light fixture; kitchen fixtures.
impedimenta β Equipment for an activity or expedition, especially when considered as bulky or an encumbrance.
materiel β the aggregate of things used or needed in any business, undertaking, or operation (distinguished from personnel).
outfit β an assemblage of articles that equip a person for a particular task, role, trade, etc.: an explorer's outfit.
provisions β a clause in a legal instrument, a law, etc., providing for a particular matter; stipulation; proviso.
rig β Chiefly Nautical. to put in proper order for working or use. to fit (a ship, mast, etc.) with the necessary shrouds, stays, etc. to fit (shrouds, stays, sails, etc.) to the mast, yard, or the like.
setup β Surveying. station (def 14a). a surveying instrument precisely positioned for observations from a station. a gap between the end of a chain or tape being used for a measurement and the point toward which it is laid.
shebang β Informal. the structure of something, as of an organization, contrivance, or affair: The whole shebang fell apart when the chairman quit.
stock β a supply of goods kept on hand for sale to customers by a merchant, distributor, manufacturer, etc.; inventory.
store β an establishment where merchandise is sold, usually on a retail basis.
stuff β the material of which anything is made: a hard, crystalline stuff.
tackle β equipment, apparatus, or gear, especially for fishing: fishing tackle.
things β (in Scandinavian countries) a public meeting or assembly, especially a legislative assembly or a court of law.
trappings β articles of equipment or dress, especially of an ornamental character.
traps β a ladder or ladderlike device used to reach a loft, attic, etc.
miscellaneous β consisting of members or elements of different kinds; of mixed character: a book of miscellaneous essays on American history.
provisioning β a clause in a legal instrument, a law, etc., providing for a particular matter; stipulation; proviso.
