- prospect — Usually, prospects. an apparent probability of advancement, success, profit, etc. the outlook for the future: good business prospects.
- scope — extent or range of view, outlook, application, operation, effectiveness, etc.: an investigation of wide scope.
- boundary — The boundary of an area of land is an imaginary line that separates it from other areas.
- perspective — a technique of depicting volumes and spatial relationships on a flat surface. Compare aerial perspective, linear perspective.
- purview — the range of operation, authority, control, concern, etc.
- vista — a national program in the U.S., sponsored by ACTION, for sending volunteers into poor areas to teach various job skills.

- limit — the final, utmost, or furthest boundary or point as to extent, amount, continuance, procedure, etc.: the limit of his experience; the limit of vision.
- compass — A compass is an instrument that you use for finding directions. It has a dial and a magnetic needle that always points to the north.
- border — The border between two countries or regions is the dividing line between them. Sometimes the border also refers to the land close to this line.
- field of vision — the entire view encompassed by the eye when it is trained in any particular direction.
- skyline — the boundary line between earth and sky; the apparent horizon: A sail appeared against the skyline.
- distance — the extent or amount of space between two things, points, lines, etc.
- vanishing point — a point of disappearance, cessation, or extinction: His patience had reached the vanishing point.
