- editorial — an article in a newspaper or other periodical or on a website presenting the opinion of the publisher, writer, or editor.
- reporting — an account or statement describing in detail an event, situation, or the like, usually as the result of observation, inquiry, etc.: a report on the peace conference; a medical report on the patient.
- newspaper — a publication issued at regular and usually close intervals, especially daily or weekly, and commonly containing news, comment, features, and advertising.
- tabloid — a newspaper whose pages, usually five columns wide, are about one-half the size of a standard-sized newspaper page.
- broadsheet — A broadsheet is a newspaper that is printed on large sheets of paper. Broadsheets are generally considered to be more serious than other newspapers. Compare tabloid.

- weekly — done, happening, appearing, etc., once a week, or every week: a weekly appointment with an analyst.

- magazine — a publication that is issued periodically, usually bound in a paper cover, and typically contains essays, stories, poems, etc., by many writers, and often photographs and drawings, frequently specializing in a particular subject or area, as hobbies, news, or sports.
