- inferior — lower in station, rank, degree, or grade (often followed by to): a rank inferior to colonel.
- zipper — Also called slide fastener. a device used for fastening clothing, valises, etc., consisting of two toothed tracks or spiral metal or plastic coils, each bordering one of two edges to be joined, and a piece that either interlocks or separates them when pulled.
- niggardly — reluctant to give or spend; stingy; miserly.
- whitebread — any white or light-colored bread made from finely ground, usually bleached, flour.
- downmarket — Toward or relating to the cheaper or less prestigious sector of the market.
