adj standard

  • die hard — If you say that habits or attitudes die hard, you mean that they take a very long time to disappear or change, so that it may not be possible to get rid of them completely.
  • disciplined — having or exhibiting discipline; rigorous: paintings characterized by a disciplined technique.
  • cliched — If you describe something as clichéd, you mean that it has been said, done, or used many times before, and is boring or untrue.
  • copier — A copier is a machine which makes exact copies of writing or pictures on paper, usually by a photographic process.
  • aok — Alternative spelling of A-okay.
  • cut rate — a price, fare, or rate below the standard charge.
  • decent — Decent is used to describe something which is considered to be of an acceptable standard or quality.
  • cut and dried — If you say that a situation or solution is cut and dried, you mean that it is clear and definite.
  • in line — (of an internal-combustion engine) having the cylinders ranged side by side in one or more rows along the crankshaft.
  • boilerplate — A boilerplate is a basic written contract that can be used to make many different kinds of contracts.

  • orthodox — of, relating to, or conforming to the approved form of any doctrine, philosophy, ideology, etc.
  • going — the act of leaving or departing; departure: a safe going and quick return.
  • nowhere — in or at no place; not anywhere: The missing pen was nowhere to be found.

noun standard

  • golden rule — a rule of ethical conduct, usually phrased “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” or, as in the Sermon on the Mount, “Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so unto them.” Matt. 7:12; Luke 6:31.
